Get Help! modules
Stop It Now! and the University of Sunshine Coast have launched a series of ‘Get Help!’ self-help modules, for individuals who are concerned about their online sexual behaviour towards children. The modules have a particular focus on stopping illegal online sexual behaviours such as accessing child sexual abuse material and sexual communication with children.
The Get Help! modules offer valuable information about:
Understanding your online behaviour, your motivations to offend and patterns in your offending.
Healthier ways to communicate and express your feelings in order to make positive changes to your behaviour.
Strategies to help you move forward and live a happy life, free of offending, including how to build a strong support system and engage in healthy activities.
Like the Stop It Now! helpline, the Get Help! modules are free and anonymous.
Who we are
Stop It Now! Australia is a child sexual abuse prevention program which works with adults concerned about their own, or someone else’s sexual thoughts or behaviours towards children. The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse identified a gap in preventative interventions for potential perpetrators. Stop It Now! was highlighted as a potential model to adopt in the National Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Strategy and this has been reflected in the Strategy released in September 2021.
Jesuit Social Services, in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, have developed the Stop It Now! Australia helpline which is staffed by highly skilled practitioners. We are working closely with professionals, as well as victim-survivors of child sexual abuse, to ensure their knowledge and voice help shape the service.
